Welcome to the online home of the Wyoming Historical Society!
We’re glad you stopped by! The Wyoming Historical Society, in its current form, began in 1953 and is made up of supporters from all over the world.
As part of our ongoing efforts to preserve the past for today and tomorrow, we provide events, funding, and other initiatives and opportunities for scholars and lovers of Wyoming History.
Our initiatives span publications, conferences, and partnerships with other organizations who maintain and celebrate our state’s past. There’s so much more to explore — take a look around and feel free to get in touch if you need anything specific!

The Korell Center for Wyoming Heritage
Where Wyoming’s wild and human histories meet.
Formerly the Wind River Heritage Center, the newly minted Korell Center for Wyoming Heritage serves as the official museum and cultural center of the Wyoming Historical Society, thanks to a generous gift.
We're thrilled to have our very own home for Wyoming's history: a place to exhibit, gather and, for the first time, collect. The center is closed for renovations as we prepare to open, and it now accepts donations of historical items as our archive takes shape.
Get involved!
Whether it's joining as a member or volunteering on any of our events, there are many ways to get involved with the Wyoming Historical Society.
