Volunteer

There is room here whether you have an hour a week or a weekend a year, and whether you would rather be out in a county or at a desk with a finding aid in front of you.

Almost everything the Society does is done by people who volunteered to do it. The chapters, the treks, the newsletter, the oral histories: all of it runs on offered time.

Volunteering with the Society

In your region

Chapters across the state run programs, mark sites and keep local history in front of their neighbors. Many need hands more than expertise.

With a recorder

Sitting down with someone and having a conversation to record what they remember is the single most useful afternoon a volunteer can give.

At a desk

Indexing, research, proofreading and writing for Wyoming History News. This work helps make the collections usable by everyone who comes after.

Tell us what you would like to do

No commitment is implied by filling this in! It reaches our office, and someone will write back and talk it through with you.
