Annals of Wyoming

Wyoming’s history journal began in 1923 as the Quarterly Bulletin, took the name Annals of Wyoming in 1925, and has carried four mastheads since: Wyoming Annals from 1993 to 1995, the Wyoming History Journal from 1995 to 1996, and the Annals again after that. It became the official publication of the Wyoming Historical Society in 1953 and reached members as a benefit of membership for the seventy years that followed.

The Society’s journal of Wyoming history continues today as The Wyoming Historian, which picks up the thread the Annals carried from 1923. The first issue appeared in February 2026.
