Guide to Records
The Wyoming Historical Society’s own papers are not kept at the Society. They are held by two institutions with the staff, the storage and the catalogues to look after them: the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming, and the Wyoming State Archives in Cheyenne. Both publish finding aids online, and both have reading rooms open to the public.
Those same institutions, with the University of Wyoming Libraries, have also digitised a great deal of Wyoming history that has nothing to do with the Society. Everything below is free to search and free to read. None of it lives on this site.
