The Wyoming Historical Society is a non-profit run by a volunteer board. Your contributions help support our mission in three major ways: preserving Wyoming’s past, publishing its stories, and passing it on to the next generation.

Preserving Wyoming’s Past

Your gift helps keep Wyoming’s history within reach. Through the Korell Center for Wyoming Heritage in Riverton, the Wyoming Historical Society now accepts donations of historical items and is building an archive of its own.

Donations also sustain the records the Wyoming Historical Society keeps open to everyone, from the Oral History Database to the Annals of Wyoming and our historical maps.

Publishing Wyoming’s Stories

Your gifts support the writing that carries Wyoming history to readers: Wyoming History News, The Wyoming Historian, and the books and calendars the Wyoming Historical Society publishes.

Every issue and every title puts local history, and the people who research it, in front of a wider audience.

Passing on the Baton

We're passionate about creating opportunities to equip and encourage the next generation of historians in Wyoming, and beyond.

Gifts fund grants for research and local history projects, awards that honor the people keeping Wyoming’s history alive, and the speakers and annual conference that bring that history to communities across the state.

Medicine on the Mountain, an original feature documentary film by Bighorn Films

Special Giving opportunity!

Medicine on the Mountain

Wyoming Historical Society is proud to partner with filmmaker Stephen H. Tucker and Bighorn Films as a non-profit fiscal sponsor to accept tax deductible donations on behalf of the feature documentary project titled Medicine on the Mountain. Wyoming Historical Society will manage all donations to the project, and will maintain control over distributing funds to Bighorn Films for the production of this documentary film, as we have determined that this fiscal sponsorship is consistent with our goals and mission.

Medicine on the Mountain combines comprehensive, culturally significant history around the Bighorn Mountains – starting with the presence of the earliest humans, proceeding on through multiple timelines, ethnicities, and tribal groups.

Support of this film will strengthen the lives of residents by freshening and deepening our sense of local pride and hometown spirit. This showcase of history and culture will ultimately recover rich hidden layers of our towns and of our people, and will foster expression of love and positive impact in our local communities.

Thank you for your contribution!
